PDFs won't display in Chrome

Chrome supplies its own PDF Viewer called Chrome PDF Viewer.  Occasionally this plugin, that comes standard and enabled by Chrome, cannot handle some PDFs (particularly fill-in forms).  To remedy the problem one must disable Chrome's default plugin and turn on Adobe's plugin instead.

This method assumes the most recent Adobe Reader is already installed on your computer.

  1. Type "chrome://plugins" into Chrome's top address bar
  2. Disable "Chrome PDF Viewer".
  3. Enable "Adobe Reader".
  4. Go back to the page that had the PDF and click it again.
  5. PDF should display.

If you continue to have issues you may want to try a different browser.  If you still continue to have issues please contact the Help Desk.
